Creativity should inspire, challenge and draw debate. Projects that refuse to question these principals lose respect rapidly, culminating in mainstream landfill fit for burning. So, when we were introducing the Seeblunted (AKA Ashley Harvey-Smith) we were paralysed by his interpretation of the world that surrounds us.
From brutal views on modern architecture to more sexualised works, Seeblunted maximises the beauty of natural light and tone combining them with manipulated, digital layering. Rich palettes and neon shades provide a psychedelic depth. The anger of Hendrix’s burning Fender and the mellow vocals of Morrison flood his landscapes. Explosive and thought provoking are two basic processes we associate with Seeblunted although more complex analysis should be associated with his work.
We are currently in discussion to collaborate on a number of projects, hopefully culminating in pop-up exhibitions exploiting specific areas of his catalogue. Make sure to keep an eye out for those but in the meantime you can see a complete view of Seeblunted by following his account on Instagram here.
