Paul Smith collaborates with Cinelli to produce beautiful cycling cap collection
Iconic British designer, Paul Smith has collaborated with legendary Italian bike manufacturers, Cinelli and launched a series of beautifully designed cycling caps that feature bold colours, prints and crafted to the highest Italian standards.
Nottingham born Smith has a long history supporting and celebrating cycling. His website has a full collection of cycling paraphernalia including jerseys, cuff links and books that look back at his love of the sport so when they teamed up with Cinelli the connection was an obvious one.
Cinelli was founded in 1948 by Cino Cinelli, a former professional road racer and president of the Italian Cyclists’ Association. He was a professional racer from 1937 to 1944, winning Milan–San Remo in 1943, the Giro di Lombardia in 1938, and the Tour of the Apennines in 1937 He started a company under his name in 1948.
Cinelli applies Design principles to their products, but also to their company. Design is not just looks. Design means shape, first project, outline, technology, technique, materials, innovation, creativeness, function, quality, uniqueness, know-how, emotion. Cinelli wants every product to have an Idea, since, if it is a copy, it cannot be Cinelli.
